Mavis is unexpected and refreshing, but I prefer Maeve.I really like Rowan. The Grace part does nothing for me, though.

I much prefer Rowan on a boy, although if you are going to use it for a girl at least they picked a very feminine middle name.
I don't much care for Mavis; it has an unattractive sound to me, almost a harshness. And it is such different style than Abigail that I don't think they complement each other well.

One is too trendy, and the other too dowdy. Boo to both! :-DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

*gasp*The fact that two adults just christened their daughter Mavis Abigail has restored my faith in humankind.

lolI know just how you feel. When I found out my coworker gave his son the middle names Clarence and Wenzel, I thought "God bless you, sir".

Mavis! And Wenzel! May the parents of both live long, happy lives.

I love Rowan on a boy too - it's very masculine. I just don't understand it on a girl, doesn't work for me at all. Mavis is an unexpected surprise!

Awww, Mavis is really sweet! Abigail is not my cup of tea, the combo however... it fits.
