I like it, it's safe and not disastrous, but it does feel very dated. Nice, but never something I'd consider.

It's not a favourite, but it's a perfectly good name and I like Jess and Jessie.

It's okay. I like its Shakespearean roots, the sound of it is decent, and I don't find it nearly as vapid as many trendy names out there, but I think it needs to rest for a while. It was way too popular for too long. It's still too boring.

I like Jessica, but it really needs a long rest. I do think it's pretty, but as a child of the 90s I grew up with way too many of them, including one of my best friends.

It feels very 80s to me, and I've never been a big fan of it anyway. I'm always shocked to see it still in the top 100. I even know someone having a girl who plans to name her Jessica. Seems odd to me! But could definitely be worse.

Agree.

I kinda like it. It's absolutely overused, though.

I read this a few hours back and I've mulling it over. I really like the nn Jess, and Jessie, for that matter, but I've never really liked Jessica. But for some reason, I really like Annika, which is basically very similar--soft vowel on the first syllable, same cadence. But, my taste in names is being tamed somewhat by hanging out on this message board. Names like Jessica that are classic and recognizable are really growing on me among the sea of obscure, trendy, or just plain weird, names.

I know Jessica was overly used in the 80's. But it's still a beautiful classic and is probably relatively rare for newborns these days. I'd be very happy to meet a baby Jessica.

I love this name, but it's totally overused, and has a bit of a "cheerleader" image. So I wouldn't use it. I think it will become very dated.

I've heard people say this name is stuck in the 80's, but what about Jessica Tandy? She was born in 1909. And she's a much better namesake than, say, Jessica Alba or Jessica Simpson. She "saves" the name for me.

I don't like it or dislike it. It's just quite a normal and relatively common name to me, and I know a lot of Jessicas (most of them are 15-20 years old).I prefer a slightly more unusual twist such as Jessamine.

Very 80's. Very dated IMO. I like Jessa.
