Chad.
I'm rather curious about how popular this name is in other areas of the country. Growing up in DC I didn't know any Chads, here in North Dakota and Minnesota it's super common.

It's not common where I live.I hate the name Chad. It reminds me of a dimwitted surfer guy.

I've known a few. Only one my age but a lot more about 4-6 yrs older than me which is when I think it had a bit of a spike in popularity here. Yucky...it is one of my least favorite names of all time. I think it sounds like something you get stuck in your throat.

I've only met 1 where I live, and he was originally from the south. In his case, Chad was short for Chadwick.

I knew at least three, but I think that was a bit of a fluke because I don't see it that often here.

I've lived in the Northeast and the Southwest, and I don't believe Chad was popular in either region. I think I've met one in my lifetime.

It's reasonibly common in Central Michigan, but nowhere near as common as Kyle, Michael, or Joshua. There has been at least two Kyles on the football team since 2007 and with a team of only 22 to 26 players, that means 6 to 9 percent of the teenage male population is named Kyle in my town since there is an even greater number of them not on the team.

Not very common here- I've met one or two, but that's about it.

I grew up in Central MD and there were several Chads. They were big oafish boys, like you would imagine being nicknamed Ox or Moose in a bad sitcom. I knew a boy at college (skinny military nut who ran around in fatigues all the time) named Chadbourne who went by Chad.

I went to school with a few. Two I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there were more.

I knew a Chad when I was a kid. He was entitled, insecure, whiny and not very loyal at all. Not a good association for me. It ruined Thad for me as well because it sounds so similar.

I grew up in Arizona and I want to say I knew a Chad once, but I can't remember to be honest.

I've never met anyone called Chad but I somehow associate it with a person who loves lots of cheese.
