Evander?
Thoughts? Do you like it or dislike it, why?

I LOVE Evander. It's my #1 top name for a boy and has been for a while. It's so handsome. It's masculine without being overly, obnoxiously so.

I like it. My reason is that Evan is one of my favourite names and I like the fact that this could be used as a full name for Evan, which I sometimes find to be a little insubstantial.

I love Evander! I used to go back and forth a lot on it, but it's been firmly in the "I like this" category for about six months now. I think it's whimsical and makes a nice alternative to Evan or Alexander because it's similar in sound.

Love it!!! I've always thought Evander was an awesome name. It may remind people of Evander Holyfield, but whatever; it's still a cool name.

I love it, it's such a strong handsome name.I feel similarly about Leander, Lysander and Alexander. I really like -ander names. They're so powerful and manly, yet regal and charming.

I like it. It's a nice touch in a world full of alexanders, which I love but I like uniqueness more. I also like Lysander. They both have he same feel, strong and regal, but are more diverse. :)

Love it! I'm surprised it's not more popular considering it is a good alternative to the popular names Evan and Alexander.

Love Evander. It has a lot of energy. And nns Evan / Van.I used to think it was only an ancient Roman name. Then I found out on these boards that it's also Scottish (I think). I love when names do double duty like that. (See: Tallulah / Talulla) It gives me that much more mental associations to play around with.

I think Evander is a lovely name! It's strong yet beautiful, and for some strange reason, it makes me think of a winding river. The name's meaning and connection to classical mythology are great, too.
