Re: WDYT of June?
in reply to a message by Aine
I go on and off June. I really like the long vowel sound, and I love the summeriness about it. It's bright and happy. I also like the June Cleaver association. Quaint, as Alcyone said, is a good word for it. I can definitely picture June on any age and I think it would fit in just fine today. Although ever since I misread a boy's name and month of birth as his full name, I've thought it made a really interesting middle name for a boy!
I like June better than Juno or Juniper. Juno is too quirky and hip for my taste, and Juniper I want to like but I'm just not a big juniper fan. If I had some sentimental juniper memories I'd be all over it, though.
June Frances
June Marjorie
June Marsaili
June Wendy
June Dorothy
June Ellen
June Louise
June Josephine
June Eloise
June Caroline
Ooh, I really like some of those!

Gorgeous list! These combos are definitely making me fall more in love with June!
June Frances and June Ellen are charming.
June Eloise is possibly my favorite of the list, which is surprising. I usually really dislike Eloise because of the 'weez' sound but with June it sounds so light and sunny.
Love the alliteration of June Josephine although I think as a combo it is a bit too heavy.
June Caroline makes me think of a warm Summer day. Adore it :-)
Thanks so much!

It would make a sweet, bright little middle name, but I'm often wary of putting anything one-syllabled into the middle name spot because they sound good with pretty much anything. It's more of a challenge to find a good combo with a one-syllabled first name. :)
