Nancy
Now, if I saw a child name Nancy, I cannot deny that I would be delighted. Though I might not consider it the cutting edge of fashion, I would still consider it a bit daring and stylish enough. I was wondering what some others would think if they encountered a little girl named Nancy.

I love the name, so I'd love to see/meet a little Nancy. I'm actually named after a Nancy (Nancy Kate and I'm Sarah Kate), so Nancy has always been special to me.
I'd like it, and I wouldn't really be surprised, given that so many other old-fashioned names are popular right now. In fact I think one of my cousins might have a daughter called Nancy. (Lots of cousins. Hard to keep track.;)
With the premise that I'd rather meet a Nancy that a Mckenzie or the umpteenth Olivia or Emma, I can't say I'm a huge fan of this name, I find it dull and a little dated.
"Mom."
My mother is Nancy, as a nn for Anna. I can't separate the two. But I'd be just as delighted as you are. Nancy isn't a flashy name, but it's got a quirky, retro style and a lot of heart. I think of it as a WWII / 1950's era name. I'm hoping that's the next wave of names to come back into fashion.
I love Nan too, although that gives me more of a Tudor-England-Anne-Boleyn feeling.

I have a student named Nansi. That's how the nurse wrote it on her birth certificate because of her parents' Mexican accent. She will be 10 in a few months. I was surprised that they knew the name.
I would be excited! I think it's adorable. Although I would use it as a nn for Anne. I love how endearing it is.
I would be surprised to meet a small child called Nancy, as I consider it to be more of a 50-60 year old woman's name. However since "nicknamey" names are so popular here (Alfie, Lily, Poppy...) then maybe it wouldn't be that surprising.
Nancy is my grandmother's name, and I have also met a little Nancy. She was about 9 years old at one of the after-school programs I used to work at. I think it worked well on a modern child, and it fit her personality. She had a little sister named Phoebe, which I thought was a little bit of a mismatched sibset.
I would love to see it on a little girl, even though I don't particularly like the sound of it and associate it with my great-aunt. But it would be delightful to meet a young Nancy- and a relief to know that not all parents are into trendy or even classic names, that some would go for a name others might call "dated".
I think I'd feel the same as you. Nancy is in no way a favourite of mine, but it's classic, charming -- and yes, daring. It's a nice name. If I met a young girl named Nancy, I'd be a little thrilled and intrigued.
I would love to see the name Nancy on a fresh, young face!!
I would love to meet a little Nancy! Nancy has always been one of those names that usually I would deem not my style, but for some reason I just love her.
