I like it. It's a little bit dated but that doesn't bother me because I've never actually met anyone called Adele so I don't associate it with any age in particular. It might become more popular because of Adele, I hope so!

I love Adele! It's my aunt's name (she's in her 60s) and she is so awesome. I've liked it for a long time, and to be honest, I'm surprised it's so high on the SSA, I feel like it should get used more. I actually hope that the singer's popularity will inspire some people to name their babies Adele. It's really a lovely name, in my opinion. I'm thinking for the 2011 list, Pippa and Adele will both make a jump.

I think it's a lovely name and it would be very cute on a little girl these days. I actually know of a little girl with this name. It's also my DH's grandmothers name and the name of one of his cousins, but with the Adelle spelling. We also have a niece who's mn is Adelle and one of DH's other cousins used it as a mn for a DD of hers too. Needless to say, I wouldn't use it, as it's been used so much already! I may become more popular because of the singer, I guess time will tell.

I love it! I don't think it's popularity will soar because of the singer though. If it hasn't yet, it probably wont.

I prefer Adele to Adelle too. At one time I like Adelle better but I'm loving how Adele looks simple and clean, but sounds frilly!

Love it. It's very elegant. I have never met one, so I don't think it can really be dated when it was never very common to begin with. I do think it might grow a little in popularity due to the singer, but probably not a whole lot.

I didn't know there was a singer Adele. It's very pretty, though. I really like it (as well as Adela, Adeline, and Adelina).

I like Adele, but I prefer it with double L's: Adelle. When it's Adelle I love it! It just looks more complete to me that way.

I don't think it's particularly dated or fresh. It's a timeless name to me; I know an Adele in her fifties and another in her twenties.

I love Adele! Though I am completely biased because it is my cousin/best-friend's name (we are only a few months apart, so she is 21 now as well). I have never thought of it as a dated name, and when I talk about her people usually give me really positive responses. I've always found the name to be very dainty and fresh (which I did not get from my Adele, she's a rubgy playing pharmacy major). However; her name still suits her. I don't think it will get popular due to Adele the singer because she has had hits before (a few years ago. Chasing Pavement and Hometown Glory) and the name didn't spike then. Granted Rolling In The Deep is bigger, but still. I don't see it gaining too much.

I don't really think it will get more popular, but Adeline will. I like it, but only when it's spelled Adèle. It makes me think of Paris and of a girl with auburn hair and green gray eyes.

I went through a brief Adele crush quite awhile ago when I got into a Southern names phase. It has a really nice Southern Belle feel. I think it would be refreshing to see on a baby nowadays. Never heard of a singer called Adele, but that doesn't mean much because I haven't heard of a lot of things that are popular. I guess that could make it go up in popularity.

It's never been one of my absolute favorites, but I do find it pretty. My favorite combo is Caroline Adele.

I think it's lovely. I've liked it since I was about 14.

Some people I know have said that it sounds like an old lady's name, but it sounds fresh to me. At the same time, it also has an old-fashioned, classy vibe. It's close enough to "modern" and trendy names, such as Janelle and Danielle, to be used without too much worrying about it sounding too old-fashioned. Even if it did sound like an "old lady" name to me, I would still like it.

I hope it won't become too popular because of the singer, but I imagine that it will increase in popularity at least somewhat.

I love Adele! Though some people have denounced it as dated, I never understood that feeling -- Adele sounds lush and melodic to me.

I like Adele. The singer might contribute to a rise in popularity but it's not going against the common naming trends anyway, I think. It's an old-fashioned name with a pleasant, feminine sound. I guess it WAS dated but is fresh again by now.
