Ok I guess I'm one of the few who find this kinda cute in a rugged way. I have no idea what this Scottish murdershow business is about.
It reminds me of a sturdy little guy, so I immediately thought of it with my other "sturdy little guy" names, like

Charles Taggart "Charlie"
Toby Taggart
Rudy Taggart
Drew Taggart
Taggart Hugh / Taggart Hugo

all of which I think are rather adorable
Tag isn't bad, it's kinda thuggish, but it would be ok if he was not a thug. I actually see it as being a bit refined as well, probably because it's surnamey.
