Trendy surname as fn. There are some surnames that I admit I kind of like. But this one feels so "sheep-following-the-crowd" to me.

I don't see it as a 'trendy surname as fn'. I see it more as a place name - Hudson River Valley, my husband is from a town called Hudson. So I do see it as a little trendy, just not the surname trend.
