I've been liking
Rhoda lately, especially as an alternative to the popular
Rose (
Rhoda =
Rose). It sounds strong and unyielding, while
Rose seems more soft, delicate, and feminine. I like it better as a first name than
Rose, which I prefer as a middle name. It is somewhat old-fashioned (look at the popularity chart), but I don't have any real trouble imagining it on a young person. However, I do think it works better with some personality types than others.
Thoughts?
