My (married) last name is unusual for the area, we're the only one in town.However, it's usually pronounced right, being as it's spelled as it's said, as it's rendered phonetically from Arabic.
No problem with my given name, Jean, except, as I've groused about before, it's taken to be a male name, which of course it is in French.

You'd probably be able to pronounce my surname as it's French, maybe it's even used in Canada? I don't blame people for mispronouncing foreign names but it is annoying!
