I pronounce Isolda and Isolde the same way, "ih-ZOHL-duh." But I prefer the Isolde spelling because Isolda *looks* like "I sold a _______ ." Using a mn for Isolda which is a noun could be unfortunate. "I sold a clemency." "Can't you get arrested for that?" "I sold a lettuce." Pfffft. Even using a non-noun as a mn gives me giggles. "I sold a Rosalind." "Did you get a good price for her?" It wouldn't change the way I pronounce the fn. But it would *look* funny to my eyes.
Enough of me being picky. Isolda is image rich and fun to boot. Beautiful sounding too. I'm in for:
Isolda Beatrix
Isolda Genevieve
Isolda Helen
Isolda Leonie / Leontine
Isolda Marguerite (oh, la la)
Isolda Muriel
Isolda Vivien (utterly beautiful)
Isolda Winifred (medieval fun)
