I love Martin. Its my surname and I wasn't going to keep it when getting married, I would probably use it as a middle name myself.
I think its quirky and cute, and so seldomly used. I am not sure if I like Marty though. I think Tinny could be cute or maybe Mari (mar-ee).
I would probably call a little Martin, Mar-Mar, but obviously that isn't very practical :).
