I like the spelling Johanna and the pronunciation "yo-HAHN-uh." Johannah (especially if pronounced like Joe-Hannah) seems to me a particularly unintellectual and unhistorical concoction.

Unfortunately in Anytown, USA - most people are not going to say Yo-HAHN-uh. The American English way of saying this name is either Joanna or Jo-Hannah. I care for a 100 year old lady in the nursing home who is of pure Dutch heritage, and this is her name. Her name is Americanized to be pronounced "Jo-Hannah" even though in Holland obviously they wouldn't say it that way. Actually, I know a couple of old Dutch and German ladies that have this name and pronounce it this way.
