Maxine.
Bear brought up the Andrews Sisters on the post asking about Laverne - it made me realize how much I love the name Maxine. It makes me think of a spunky little girl, a hot tamale of the 1940s and an elderly woman with a backbone of steel. What do you guys think of it? Ideas, combos, anything?

Love MaxI knew a little girl named Maxine and her sister was Mikayla (this was when Mikayla was popular). Maxine was a very cute but rather energtic little girl.Needless to say she did not put me off the name I absolutely love Maxine for a girl

Wow. Maxine sure got slinky and sultry in my combos. She's edgier than I thought. Make that very dark red lipstick.

I beg to differ......Maxine Rosamund wears subtle pink lipstick and Maxine Violette prefers a demure hint of gloss. :)Maxine Silvestra....wow...she's a singing nightclub siren in red velvet. :)

Perhaps . . .In the daytime, yes. But at night MaxRo and MaxVi let their hair hang down and shake it all around. :-) That's odd. Why didn't the Silvestra link work?

Huh...the box is checked. (ETA)Ah...it's the elipsis. The system doesn't recognize "Sylvestra...wow...she's" as a name. My bad. :)

The first Silvestra link didn't work because you didn't put a space between a and a full stop:-)

I think of a story book......about a young rabbit who goes to buy new shoes. Her favorite show on T.V. is the Spunky Spaniel show and she wants to get mismatched shoes, just like that character, so she can be "spunky as spunky can be".Maxine Elsa
Maxine Frederica

Hehe, thanks! I really can't take all the credit, though......since I chose names from Vigdis' list. :)

I've played a girl named Maxine in a play once and the girl who sits in front of me in study hall is Maxine Mary. She's really cool and a tad bit crazy...which, in my opinion, makes her more cool.I don't really have any combo ideas and I don't really like Maxine Mary so I suppose I'm no help.

Maxine is a very spunky name. There was a lady in the nursing home named Maxine, and she was 80 years old, and still a spitfire.I think Moxie would be a cute NN, but I'm not sure if it sounds like too much of a stretch.

I think of the Maxine cartoons. BUT, if it weren't for those, I would completely agree with you.
