I don't think it's ugly, I just think it's too much to live up to. Like naming a kid Magnum, Big Boy, Great One, etc. I can see it as a mn, though, esp. if you love it. :b I love all your fn's, and esp. the combo Lorcan Magnus (even though the names are quite different in style imo).

But would not Max be more to live up to?
Magnus means "great", Max(imilian) means "greatest". I think it is not about the meaning but about how common a name is. Max is common, therefore nobody talks about the meaning.
