Gaia
So this was my favourite name for a girl for so many years. I loved it because of its meaning, earth, and I found it usable because I read a book series with a beautiful girl as the main character with this name. However, most people don't find it usable, so it's gone down on my list. What do you think?
Also, is the teasing potential too big? Its pronounced GUY-uh which may seem masculine, or even worse it could be mispronounced as GAY- uh

I love Gaia!!! It's perfectly usable. I think Gaia is very feminine (she's mother earth after all, not father earth) and I'm pretty sure it won't get GAY-a unless you use the Gaea spelling.I also like Gaiana.

I think it's fine. The people who say it isn't usable are probably non-namenerds who are just unfamiliar with the name. In my opinion, it's pretty and strong, while still being feminine.I don't think the teasing potential is too great. Kids might poke fun at it for a while, but I think they'd lost interest. Besides, it's no more outlandish than some of the kre8tyve names I'm hearing these days.

I would use it. I love the name Gaia, pronounced GUY-ah, and Gaiana for that matter (just thought I'd throw that out there). I think that people would pronounce it GUY-ah in most cases, simply because of its similarity to Maia, which isn't exactly unpopular. At most you'd have to say "Gaia, like Maia but with a G."

I love Gaia. I pronounce it "GUY-uh" too and that's what stops me from suggesting it more. I don't think "guy" but I can the general public doing so. Then again, the general public wouldn't know what to do with half of my favorites. So what do I know? Besides, there's teasing potential in just about any name, if one really wants to find it. You should use Gaia. The mythological association alone makes it wonderful. Do you have any mn thoughts?

Thank you! That makes me feel better about using it! I was thinking:Gaia Scarlett
Gaia Sadie
Gaia Lorelai
Gaia Nayeli
I also thought Gaia Summer, but I think that may be too themy and nature-ish

Gaia Nayeli is gorgeous. :-)Would Gaia Persephone be too theme-y as well? I almost suggested it above but stopped myself.

Hmm maybe, I like Persephone, I don't think that many people would make the link, so it wouldn't be too bad

Oooh. I just thought of Gaia Parthenope and Gaia Parthenia. Those aren't as theme-y, but still have the same air.
