I pronounce it oh-shee-AH-na (basically like oh-she-on-ah if you're pronouncing the "she" part like the word "she").

Intuitively, I pronounce it oh-she-AH-nuh and I like it. The only drawback I see is if she developed a weight problem and got teased because, hey, oceans are rather big things. The word 'titanic' comes to mind. ;-)

Having never heard anyone say it before, I'd guess it was, "o-she-AH-nuh." I'm from the West Coast of the U.S., if that makes any difference.Now, if you had asked about Oceane, I'd know it was "o-say-AHN."I like them both because they make me think the parents care about the environment.

I wouldn't have thought that... It makes sense though. I remember reading some story (fiction or non fiction I don't know) where the child was born at sea during colonial times and they named her Oceana.
That's what it makes me think of...
