Pretty negative, for different reasons. Esmeralda is extremely long and sounds clunky; which is odd really because it's also fancy to the point of being ornate. Too much of a good thing altogether. And Perdita might be shorter and with a lighter rhythm, but it could still shorten to Perdy, which should put any thinking person off it for life.
For the record, I'm very fond indeed of Esmeralda Weatherwax, known as Esme, and of Perdita the Dalmatian. But not of their names.
