Odelia or Odilia?
I liked Odelia first. It sends me into spasms of joy, I don't know what it is about it. It's lurchy yet graceful, dorky yet hip, wooden yet musical. It's vying for a spot against Ouida. How would you say this name? I'm just not sure how clear the pronunciation is. I say it "oh-DEE-lia", but does it look like it should be "oh-DELL-ia"? Is Odilia clearer in terms of getting the long eeeee sound?

I prefer Odilia, partly because it was my great-greatgrandmother's name.Apart from that, Odelia would be pronounced as oh-DAY-lee-ah in my country, which I dislike. At least with Odilia, people would be able to pronounce the name properly (which would be oh-DEE-lee-ah).

I love Odelia, and I would go with that spelling. The 'e' just makes it seem smoother. As for pronunciation, oh-dee-lia. I don't see oh-dell-ia.

I prefer Odelia. I've never been able to warm up to the way Odilia looks.I pronounce Odelia o-DEEL-ya like Ophelia with a "d" in the middle instead of "ph."

I'd say Oh Delia too, and oh DIL ya for Odilia. I quite like both of them, but Odelia is more fun.

I think Odelia looks prettier. I pronounce it oh-dee-lia but I would pronounce Odilia oh-dill-ia.

I don't think that Odilia is easier in getting across the 'eee' sound, I say it as Oh - DILL - eyah! That's accents for you. I love Odelia.

I like them both equally, but I have to admit that I pronounce Odelia with a dell sound and Odilia more often than not with a dill sound. I can't help it.

I like Odelia better. Odilia may be a little more straightforward, but it also makes me think of the 'dill' sound and I don't think it looks as good as Odelia.
I think Ouida is cooler than both of them though :POh, and I say oh-DEE-lee-uh.

I'm still in love with Ouida, don't you worry! And the "dill" is what gets me too - I think i'd rather have it mis-said as "dell" than "dill".

I pronounce it like Ophelia, with a d in place of the ph. I never thought about it much before, but it's actually quite lovely. Odelia appeals to me more than Odilia, but I'm not quite sure why. Maybe because the latter's ili looks kind of squished together.
