Just the ambiguity is a problem for me. I tend to say LOO-iss, so I prefer the unambiguous English spelling Lewis. I think non-French-speaking people saying it with the final S silent, sounds really affected.
Other than that, it sounds great for Peter's brother. thumbs up.

I agree with the pronunciation problem. We would pronounce it LOO-is. Visually, I prefer the Louis spelling, plus it is a family name, but I see how Lewis could bypass the amibiguity.
