I really like Kai on it's own. But, I also like the names Kainoa and Malachi.

I love Kai. I think it's fine on its own, but I like Malachi and Cairo too. Caius nn Cai is another option.

I prefer it on its own because of Sir Kai. If it has to be a nn, I like Cairo and Malachi, but I think they would work better with the nn spelled "Cai". Kyros, Chiron, Cairon, Kairon, Kairos, Kaito, Caius, Kaimana, Kaiser, Kailash, Kaimana, and Makaio could work too.

I think Kai works on it's own. If I had to choose a full name for it though, I'd go with Malachi.

I like Kai just fine as a full name but if it must be a nickname, Malachi would be my first choice.

Mekai or Makai
I do love both Cairo and Malachi.
I like Kai on it's own but it is short, which I don't really love in a name.

I'm not a fan of Malachi but I do like Cairo. I like Kai on it's own but if I was going to give it a full name it would either be Caius or Caiaphas.

Ohh I like Nikolai. Could Kai work for that though? That reminds me of Kyan. Like Ryan but with a K. WDYT?

I think Kyan nn Ky would be nice. I know a Kyan (rhyming with Ryan) and think it is a lovely name.I am however not a fan of Kai as I am from NZ and here Kai is the Maori word for food, so I dislike the association despite liking the sound.Malachi is nice but I am not a fan of Cairo

I'm from New Zealand too! Haha, that's why I only want it as a nickname, because i wouldn't want a child called food!

Would Cai get rid of that, since its spelled differently, or would that just be like calling your kid Foud?

That is funny. I hope kids with the name Kai do not go to New Zealand. They might get mistaken for food. That always makes me wonder about names and what they mean (as a word and not a name) in a different language. At least I know my name is safe.

I love Kai on its own but I also like Malachi as a full name for it. Not a fan of Cairo
