I like Margaret. It is my great-grandma's name and I think it is timeless and classic. Also there are loads of nice nicknames e.g. Maggie or Greta which I love. I consider it similar to Elizabeth in that sense.I like the combos
Margaret Iris
Rosalind Margaret
Julia Margaret
Cora Margaret
Margaret Viola

I find it similar to Elizabeth too. I love how neither of them ends in an a. Thank you for commenting!

I've never liked it, and would probably never use it, but I've really starting enjoying it. Someone on a baby naming board somewhere (i've forgotten which one) named their baby Margaret Rosamund which I find AMAZINGLY gorgeous. Margaret Rosalind would be beautiful too.

Someone actually named their daughter Margaret Rosamund?? Lucky kid. I do really like Margaret Rosalind also. Thanks!

I'm sure by now it's no secret here that it's my favorite name ever and has been since I was about 14, and that we plan to name our first daughter Margaret. I agree with your perception of it, and I also like about it how I can see it on nearly any kind of girl. And it's just so lovely to say.Of those combos, my favorites are:
Margaret Eleanor
Margaret Ellen
Margaret Wilhelmina
Margaret Rosalie - I really like this
Cora Margaret
Margaret Opal
Zelda Margaret - very close to my great-grandma's name, Zella MargarettI like to stay mostly basic with Margaret, nothing too fancy.

I agree totally with seeing it on any type of girl. With a lot of names I get such a definite picture of what someone should look like or what their personality should be. It's enough to make me not want to use those names. Like my honoring combo Marion Elspeth. I love it so much, but I already know what a Marion Elspeth would look like and how she would act. Imposing my own perceptions on a kid like that just doesn't seem fair.Your great-grandma's name is really pretty! I love Z names.Thank you for your comments! :)

Mary Margaret is really pretty, but it reminds me of my aunt.

I like Margaret well enough because it was my mother's name, however, I LOVE the nns much, much more. My faves are Meg and Daisy. Fave combos: Margaret Susanna and Margaret Eve.

Margaret Eve is gorgeous, as is Margaret Susanna (though I prefer Margaret Susanne). See, I'm not crazy about a lot of Margaret nicknames. I think if I had to choose I would go with Gretchen.

Being a M*A*S*H fan Margaret has always been around but it has really grown on me lately. I especially like it said with a Bostonian accent (once again I'm a major M*A*S*H fan). I wouldn't use it as it's not my style but it would be nice to meet a little Margaret. I like the combos Margaret Eloïse and Margaret Elaine. Out of yours I like Margaret Antonia, Margaret Rosalie, Margaret Odile (and I HATE Odile lol), and Margaret Eleanor.

I LLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE Margaret. I see it more as a middle name. I can't really see a little girl with this name

I can see a little girl with the name Margaret. I guess I just don't see it in as serious a light as most people. It does work really well in the middle.
