I have a slight dilemma. As some of you know, I love history and there are a few personalities of which I'm partial that I'd like to name my children after. One of those personalities is
Aleksandra Feodorovna, the wife of
Nikolai II (however, I'd use the
Alexandra spelling), who was born
Alix. I'm stumped, though, over which name to use. Do I use the name she was born with (
Alix) or the name she took after converting to Russian Orthodoxy?
I'd like to use the name as a MN for
Irina. Which do you like better:
Irina Alexandra or
Irina Alix?
Also, are there any persons from history (or anywhere else) you like enough to name your child after?
