Mabel
recently i've found myself to be very fond of Mabel.
What do you think?
Combos, one or two middle names?

How are you pronouncing it? Like table or like Maybelle. I only like the table pronunciation. Mable's not a favorite but in a world of Hazels and Olives she fits right in.
Mabel Henrietta
Mabel Louise
Mabel Renée
Mabel Willow
Mabel Karoline (I normally like the C spelling but K fits better with Mabel IMO)
Mabel Alexandria
Mabel Deanne
Mabel Riley
Mabel Xaviera

I used to think it was ridiculously old - now I think it's cute. Sweet red little name, like a cherry. I think it will probably be one of the next round of old names to come back.
Mabel Celeste, how sugarsweet, le vom
Mabel Beatrice
Mabel Adelaide
Mabel Winifred
Mabel Gwen
Mabel Rose
OK those are some combos which don't challenge any traditional perceptions of Mabel, but instead complement them. Those are some Popular Culture Mabel combos. Let's try a different flavor.
Mabel Amanda
Mabel Chrysanthemum
Mabel Moriarty
Mabel Bean
Mabel Griselda
Mabel Trinity
Mabel Sweetheart
Mabel Crow
Mabel Mitleid (this is the german word for pity, mit=with, leid=pain. isn't that fab!)
Mabel Ponticello
Here is a combo which I think is a nice springboard for some 3 namers: Mabel Poppea.
But I'm too lazy to think of any right now

I love Mabel Celeste and Mabel Winifred!
Why why why would anyone name their daughter Mitleid? Call me narrow-minded but Germany has no puritan traditions so we never use virtue names. I'm just so glad this one is prohibited by our naming laws.
Where did you get that one by the way? Meaning is correct :)

i like Mabel Bean, i like the others too, but that one caught my eye :) it sounds like something my husband would come up with ;)
Very nice sibset! :-)
I think Mabel could work very nicely with two middle names although I generally only ever even think to put one middle name.
I LOVE Mabel, btw. (Here's a post I've made about it before.

I'm torn between thinking it's quirky and charming and should come back and thinking that it's terminally fusty, dusty, and terminally old lady. This post isn't much help, I imagine! But one minute I think one thing and the next minute the other!
I really want to like Mabel; but I just can't bring myself to. It just sounds like "table" to me, or "may bull."
I still kinda think of it as an old lady name, but it's kinda nice. I like Mavelle better which is kinda similar... and I've only ever met one (she's Mexican and it's not common there either), so it's hard for it to seem dated, but still sounds like a name rather than a "WHAT were those parents THINKING?!!!"
As for the 1 or 2 mns, it would all depends what you find that flows and that you like. Since you're considering 2 mns, I'll leave in a few names I might otherwise remove since something else could be put in the middle to separate ones I wouldn't put beside each other.

Although I have never been fond of the name, I recently met a little Mabel and was surpised at how much it suited a little girl.
