I prefer Asa. It's a nice, underused name. I appreciate the rareness of Amos, but it's not something I like all that much. It might end up growing on me though.

Asa!I do like Amos, but it doesn't even compare to Asa.

Amos is my personal favorite of the two, but to be honest, both are lovely.

Asa, by a mile

AmosAsa sounds too feminine to me, though I do know it's a masculine name and has been one forever. It still sounds feminine.

Asa. Times a million. Not because Amos isn't a good name. It is. I like it. But I love, love, love Asa. It's just so spunky and works on a little boy through to an old man.

Amos. I heard a woman calling her son Asa the other day and to me, it says "I'm too hip to act excited that I found an obscure Hebrew boy name on the internet that ends in A, because -a on guys is so sexay" I mean, it doesn't give a "classic" impression at all - it sounds just as much a modern and inventive usage to me as Shea or Anakin or Caoimhe. Amos does sound classic, although I share beethoven's Southern porch-sitter image of it.BTW I don't think Asa is a bad name, I just think that where I live, it is not a classic by any stretch.

Amos, def. The anus thing doesn't bother me much, even though I definitely think of it immediately. Asa seems more modern and out of left field. It doesn't sit on a crickety old porch rocking chair like Amos does, to me.

Asa, hands down.

Ditto.

Agreed.

Asa. It's very handsome, strong, and doesn't rhyme with "anus".

I prefer Amos, though Asa's also nice.

Asa sounds much stronger.

Amos, though neither really strikes my fancy.

Asa definitely.
