The pool of masculine names keeps shrinking as parents of little girls use them for their dds. Whenever a great, forgotten, traditional masculine name is rediscovered there's sure to be parents of little girls ready to co-opt it.

I wouldn't mind so much if it worked both ways. But it doesn't. Please, for the sake of parents of little boys, don't use Ashton for a girl. There are so many other great, feminine names that you could use.
