What do you think of Plum as a nickname?
Do you think Plum would be a good nickname, like for a name that starts with a P? Do you think it would sound good on a girl?

Plum sounds silly to me, and puts me to mind of a geisha. I suppose it could work as a nn for Paloma, though.

I love the nn Plum- I like it best as a nickname for Mirabel/Mirabelle as the name refers originally to a type of plum from France.

Plum's a guilty pleasure of mine, but I don't think any "P" name can have Plum as a nickname. I guess you could pull it off for say, Paula or Pauline, but it would be weird for Paige.

Gives me indigestion.I do not find Plum to be pleasant even in my diet. Makes me visit where Elvis died too much. The toilet that is. Works with names like Prunella, however. I would not name a child Prunella, either.

Hmmm.....
Penelope nn Plum- no
Phoebe nn Plum- no
Pansy nn Plum- no
Philomena nn Plum- no
Praskovia nn Plum- no
I'd say no, but Prunella as someone suggested would be the only one I can think of that would work. I think it would be better if there was a reason behind calling her Plum, like she kept grabbing plums from the fruitbowl to eat or something.

Depends on the name.Plum is all right, but only with the right given name. One of my pet peeves is NNs that are completely unrelated to the given name (I've actually heard of Eric NN Odin - awful!!).

I don't like Plum, not even for a nickname. It sounds "fat", if you know what I mean.
