They always have this commercial on our PBS station for the pediatric practice of this married couple, and the wife's name is Sibel. They pronoucne it si-BEL. Kind of like Isabel, but take the "iz" off.It's not in the database here, but someone submitted it and says that it is "Turkish name of Arabic origin, meaning "raindrop (between sky and earth)", "flowing"."I'm rarely (or pretty much never) into names of that background, but I think Sibel has a really pretty sound. It feels sort of dark and alluring to me. What do you think of it?
