I found out recently from my mother that my Oma had wanted me to be named Ingrid, after her dead sister and daughter (who also died). It's odd - I've never really thought too much about the name Ingrid, but I think it would have suited me quite well. I can understand why my mom did not agree to it though (so many dead Ingrids must be bad juju), and if I had known about it when I was changing my name I don't think I would have chosen it either, for reasons of family politics, but I must say I enjoy the idea that I could have been an Ingrid!

What do you think of the name Ingrid? I think my name, if it had been chosen, would have been Ingrid Kristina, Ingrid Clarissa, or Ingrid Crystal (or Ingrid Kristal maybe).
