I like Naomi. I don't think it is common at all here and I don't remember ever meeting one. It sounds like it is popular in the UK though! I think I slightly prefer Noemi because I think it is more fun to say and I like the sound of it better, especially in Spanish.

I am a Naomi. I've always loved it. It's not popular. Personally, I've barely met 5 in my life, but they are around as most people I met have heard of a Naomi or know one. I think, in Australia, it was most popular in the 1970s, though it's not a time-stamped name.

I hate nigh-OH-mee. It just sounds like a nasal twang. I am nay-OH-mee (ie: Nay, owe me!). I once met a nay-OH-mie (ie ending as 'my') spelt Naomi. But all the Naomis I know and the majority of people say 'nay-OH-mee'.

I don't know anyone named Naomi. But I love it! Don't prefer Noemi.

I know two Naomis, one age about 28, the other age 10.
Noemi is the varient favoured in my area.

I'm also in the UK and haven't met one single little Naomi. I know two grown-up ones though: a 20-something Australian and a 30-something Brit. It's a good classic name. Noemi is more fun though.

I like it. My dad wanted to name me Naomi. I wish my parents had used it. I don't think I've met anyone named Naomi personally.

I really like Naomi. When I was a kid, I thought it was absolutely stunning and I clearly recall me asking my Dad whether I could change my name to it at one point. lol

I have only ever known one Naomi and she'd be about 23 now. Its a very nice and underused name. And I think it must have been a bit of a freak event for your friend to have three Naomi's in her class- I doubt that there would even be one Emily or Isabella on average in every kindergarten classroom in Australia despite their extreme popularity. But you would get the odd class with four Emilys and two Emmas. My little sister's kindergarten class of 21 kids has two girls named Ilana in it. What are the chances? You just can't pick it, y'know

It's okay. I does have a nice exotic appeal. It seems like a name that would be getting more common. I only know of one baby Naomi, though. I think I slightly prefer Noemi. I like the sound a bit better.

And she was so nice. Like incredibly kind, gentle and supportive, but not simpering or sappy. She had this incredible sense of inner peace and content with the world, like she knew that whatever happened, she would be ok.

Thing was, I could never remember her name because she did not look like a Naomi - she was about six feet tall, with sharp Scandinavian features and long, pin-striaght yellow hair. She looked like a Katrina ought to, or maybe a Silvia or Isolde or something. I think of Naomi and I see a short, forceful girl with masses of curly dark hair and freckles.

since she was the only one I've known, I'd say not common at all! but I like in a strange place that seems to not follow name popularity rules so you shouldn't take my word for anything.

It's a great, classic name - I just don't like the way most Americans pronounce it with a nay sound instead of nye sound.

I llllooovvveee Naomi. I don't think its all that common (it's not even in the top 100 in the US). The only Naomi I kind of know is this girl that works at a resturant that my grandma likes it eat at.

Naomi isn't common in the states. The only Naomi I've met was a teacher of mine when I was in 2nd grade. I do like Naomi though. Noemi isn't bad either. I've only met one person with that name as well. I think she was in her 20's. I prefer Naomi though.

I think Naomi is a very pretty, gentle name. I live in the US, so it doesn't feel like it's too popular to me.

I actually like Naomi a lot. It's a name I've never paid much attention to before. As a plus, I've never known a single one. Definitely prefer it to Noemi.

I like it, preferably pronounced nigh-OH-mee, rather than nay-OH-mee. I'm also in the UK, and although I know three or four, they're all adults, I don't know any children named Naomi (and I'm a teacher, so I come across a fair few kids!).
I love Noemi, but every time I mention it to anyone, they always, without fail, say "don't you mean Naomi?" lol

I only knew one of each and I love both names!
