Roman?
What do you think of the name Roman? I heard it recently and it's really stuck with me. When Debra Messing named her baby Roman, I was like, "Okay, cute, different, whatever." But now I love it! My other two favorite names of the moment are Noah and Deacon. My only concern is that Roman, Noah, and Deacon all bring religious associations to mind.

Fabulous name! I very much wanted to use it for our middle child, but was vetoed by my husband. -an names are very popular with boys right now, though.

Roman is fairly common in my area, on all age groups. I like Noah, good name.

My friend named her son Roman. It fits him great.

I love Roman because it's such a strong name and makes me think of the Roman Empire. I agree that it's too much with Noah and Deacon, though.

I think it's a great sib set. They are all different types of names that have an "oh" sound in there somewhere so it makes them fit so well. Also, I don't think Roman reminds me of religion, and even though Deacon is a religious office, in my mind I would lump it with the Freeman's, Macon's and Langston's of the world. My sister in law's maiden name is Roman, and so a future son that my brother and she may have will be named Lucas Roman (Lucas is my brother's fn)
I think it's really pretty great as a name, personally.

I like it, in a GP sort of way. I mean, I wouldn't use it. I think too hard about meanings. But I think it's usable. I have run into a couple young Romans on playgrounds, and it's really fine.Noah is popular enough that the bearded ark captain image fades for me. I knew a Noah in high school, in the 80s, and it seemed cool.Deacon, to me at least, is too much of a word. It's not awful though - I could call a kid Deacon without feeling like it sounded dumb. It's namey enough.
