It's close to the English violate, so it wouldn't surprise me.
As for Viola Larkspur, if you think of Viola as a musical instrument instead of a small pansy, you'll be fine.
I like Viola Catherine (surprisingly. I usually avoid Catherine) and Viola Jane.
