I like it pretty well. It has pros and cons, but generally my response to it is positive. I think it's a suitable concept for a word name, and sounds namey.

I like Liberty as a name. I've long liked Freedom as a name (my combo is Freedom Johanna, nn Edie or Freda) but no one else seems to like it. :-(Liberty nn Libby is very sweet. From your list, I like:Liberty Christabel (makes me think of the Liberty Bell)
Liberty Julia
Liberty SusannahI adore the name Athenais. I just don't like it next to Liberty. But kudos for attempting to find a combo for her. She's a stunner, really.Mine:Liberty Aurora
Liberty Aurelia ("o-RAY-lee-uh")
Liberty Imogen
Liberty Josepha ("jo-SEF-uh")
Liberty Jocelyn
Liberty Miranda
Liberty Callista
Liberty Celeste
Liberty Abigail
Liberty Cathleen / Catriona
Liberty Isidora
Liberty Clara
Liberty Adele
Liberty Hannah
Liberty Kate

My mum knows a Freedom who is in her late 60s, she's a Romnichal gypsy.

Wow. Great name for her. Thanks.

Wow... thank you! I love that list. Especially Liberty Oriana, I love the way you played with the meanings. How are you pronouncing Johanna in the combo Freedom Johanna? I think I quite like it.

Thanks. I'm being pedestrian and saying it as, "jo-HAN-uh." It was my great-grandmother's name and that's how she (being Irish) pronounced it.I know many pronounce it as "yo-HAH-nuh." But I just don't see that as very practical. Then again, as a mn, it wouldn't come up that much so you could get way with the more authentic, exotic pronunciation. I'm just used to, "jo-HAN-uh."

I've got to admit, I like this as a name. I think it's usable, too. I wouldn't mind if it were my name. Libby would be a cute nickname. I particularly like Liberty Susannah.

I wouldn't use it, but it would be okay on someone else's kid. NN Libby?
I like Liberty Anastasia, Liberty Christobel, and Liberty Julia, also Liberty Jasmine and maybe Liberty Heart (eh, too many wor names in that one)

no nn Libby...I can't stand it!thanks.

Don't like it, sorry. Liberty is a great thing but it doesn't make a good name IMO.

Although I like the components of the name (Lib is fun, and Berty, well, I'm sold on that), together they seem so brazen and tawdry. But that aside, I think that Liberty would sound nicest paired with a sturdy, classic two-syllable name; a one-syllable makes it sound even more one-dimensional, and a three-syllable name makes the combo heavy and lumbering.Liberty Rowan is good though I don't think the names suit each other. I might suggest:Liberty Helen
Liberty Ellen
Liberty Susan
Liberty Anna
Liberty Hannah
Liberty Christa
Liberty Clara
Liberty Margaret
Liberty Alice
Liberty Frances
Liberty Catherine
Liberty Ada
Liberty Nora
