I like Lola. I could never use it, but I appreciate it; it has a pretty, wispy quality that makes me alternately think of someone with a really strong personality or someone who's happily enigmatic.Tess sounds too simple and insubstantial to me. It's sweet but feels like it's missing something.I like both these names better as nns for something longer: Dolores, Charlotte, Lorelei, or even Gwendolen for Lola, and Therese, Tempest, or Theresa for Tess.
