I like Hazel a lot. It was never really one I considered until recently. I think it's simple, old-fashioned, spunky and fresh.

Amethyst is not really my style. It might be more user-friendly with the nick name Amy.

I absolutely adore Amethyst as a GP. Hazel seems ... nasal/ugly to me, and it reminds me of witch hazel.

Ooh Amethyst! Love it! Hazel, still nice but not as fun. A more mature name instead of the zingy elegance of Amethyst

I like them, but I wouldn't like them in the same sibset. Hazel is more of a nature name, and Amethyst is a gemstone, which makes them sound like very different styles IMO. I don't like them as much as other similar names because they're a bit more popular, but they're not bad.

I really like Hazel. Amethyst, not so much.
