What are you thoughts and opinions on Lois? The name is really growing on me for our little girl due in July. Also, if you don't mind combo suggestions would be great too. I'm open to anything in the middle name position. However, I wanted to incorporate Marie or a variant in either the 1st or 2nd middle name position. I am the 5th generation with Marie as a middle name and would like to pass it along, but not as her only middle name.Thanks in advance

Let's start with Marie. What about Marianne or Annemarie as a blended mn? Or Rosemarie, though I don't like the sound of it with Lois? Or, since you clearly enjoy Felix, why not Lois Felicity Marie, which I think flows pretty well.Lois is a really good name. The only drawback is the likelihood - no, the certainty - of jokes about a flying boyfriend. But as people get used to it and to her, they will diminish.

I think Lois is quite cute actually and I think it would be nice to see/hear it used on a little girl these days. I think the combo Lois Ruby Marie would be pretty, as Ruby is the birthstone for July and a gorgeous name.

I immediately think of Family Guy, but the name's nice anyway -- and I prefer Louise.

Congrautlations. :-)Lois is a darling name. I love short feminine names with two distinct vowels sounds next to each other and Lois fits right in with that. Lois Mariana Charlotte

I would like to see a little Lois, but I'm not a huge fan of the name in general. I much prefer Louise, which I think is very pretty. In my mind Lois is just too associated with Family Guy and Malcolm in the Middle-- so it's hard to picture it on a sweet little girl!

I guess I need to catch up on current TV. I didn't realize there were Lois' on TV other than on an old rerun of superman.

Ah yes, Superman. That one skipped my mind for now. But I think that's a cool association and doesn't make the name seem whiny or overbearing.

Me too. I never thought I'd see the day that Lois overcame the "Superman" reference. But here it is. Good for Lois, I say. The more references the better, instead of being pidgeon-holed into one.
