Beau
I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I can't decide whether or not to add it to my PNL. Thoughts/opinions? Any positive/negative associations? Thanks.

I ♥ Beau. It's been on my shortlist for 3+ years right now. It was one of the few names I was going to use with my son if it had sounded better with our last name. I don't have any associations with it ... But I just love it.
I like it a lot. Positive, definitely.
I've never really liked it.
I don't like the way it sounds. I think it's one of the most unattractive names around. It also seems too nicknamey on its own, as I believe it did start out as a nickname for Beauregard. And that gives it its negative association for me, as the vast majority of people who named their sons Beauregard were doing so to honor Pierre Beauregard, a Confederate general during the Civil War. So it brings to mind for me an unrepentant ex-Confederate who still believes that slavery was okay and that it was a great idea for the Southern states to secede, if only it had worked, doggone it!
I know a Bo, by the way. The name sounds the same, though spelled differently, In his case, his real name is Robert, but he's always called Bo. His father wanted to name him Robert after himself, and his mother agreed, but hated the name Robert, and also hated Bob, and started calling him Bo as the shortest form of Bob there was. That's the story he tells.

I also know a Bo. It's short for Boaz in his case. :)
I like it. There's something very cool about it.
I love it and have done for a while now so I've recently added it to my PNL :)
I'm torn. A part of me likes it, both the look and sound of it, but another part of me thinks it's pretentious and just a French word that shouldn't be used as a name. As long as you like it for a boy I guess it's not that bad.
I love it. :) Met a kid at camp one summer named Beau who had this head of curly red hair and played a mean jazz saxophone... gave me a good association with it. :) I think it's a very unique and cool name with a great meaning.
