Found this name in an obituary in the North Wales papers last week on an 80-yr-old lady - it's pronounced VAL-my (to rhyme with high). I looked it up because I've never seen it before, and it seems to have had a little run in popularity in Wales between 1899 and 1930. It's not a Welsh name as Welsh doesn't use the letter v, but seems to be an invention based on
Val plus the Welsh version of
May. Has anyone else come across it, and wdyt?
