Betony
WDYT of this uncommon name and how do you pronounce it?
The data base gives a 2-syllable pronunciation, but I think that may be mistaken, to judge from my dictionary for the plant so-called.
I think Betony & Bryony would make a good twin sibset.

I say BEH-to-nee. I like it. I first saw it as a name in a book and I thought it was great, but that a person with that name might be mistaken for Bethany. I would love to meet a kid named Betony though.
I'd pronounce it with a brief middle syllable: BEH-tә-nee. But when you say it quickly the middle syllable kind of gets eaten up, so it almost sounds like 2.
I think it's kind of nice, actually. I never would have thought of it, and I don't think I'd ever use it, but it's nice. I think it's a little too matchy with Bryony to use them for twin names, but I like them separately.

Ditto everything
Whenever I see that name around here I always think, "Oh, yeah, that's pretty!" Somehow I always forget about it. Same with Idony.
