Daphne is a classic name from Greek Mythology

Daphne is pretty and I think of the famous myth, not of Scooby Doo. I did not watch Scooby Doo, and I doubt that it would have made such a life-long impression on me.
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (Edith Södergran 1891-1923)

Since it is a seldom-heard name in the US, but since most of us are familiar with Scooby Doo, I'm not surprised that most of us who are Americans associate it with that show.
