Aurora?
I was studying the Aurora Boriealis in physics class and I remembered that there was a girl in my highschool with the first name Aurora. Just wondering what people think of the name. It means dawn which I think is cool. Since my name is Laura I probably could never use it because they sound too similar, but maybe as a middle name.
I'm actually not a huge fan of the "ror" sound in the middle. I think it sounds awkward, but that might just be me hearing a meesed up pronounciation of "Laura" in my head cause that's what my mind wants to hear. Although I'm not a fan of the name Rory for the same reason. Anyway...just wondering what people think. Any combos with it that you like, either as a first or middle name?

If you don't like the or sound maybe you prefer Aurelia (I do!).
I don't like it.
So many Rs makes the name sound harsh.

I like Aurora. The way it sounds when it's mispronounced makes me laugh though.
Aurora makes me think of sleeping beauty first, and then of an Aurora i knew i middle school that had a stillborn twin named Boriealis. I like Aurora ok, i prefer it to Dawn, but it's really not my style. as for combos, my mind is blank except for Aurora Rose, which is redundant, and yet has a bit of a nice lilt to it... hmm...
I think of Sleeping Beauty first and Aurora Greenway from Terms of Endearment second.
I like the sound alright, and the meaning is great, but I just see the arguments with my little cousins over what Sleeping Beauty's real name is.
I have trouble too with the Auror part. It gets all smooshed in my mouth. Also, it's a highway here, so not the best association. Otherwise I absolutely adore the name and the meaning.
I find it sentimental and Disney-princessy so I'd never use it, but then I don't like Dawn as a name either. (Laura is wonderful!)So I really can't imagine a combo ... sorry.
