Claudia.
As you may or may not know, I have no child, am not pregnant, nor do I plan to have children anytime soon. This might be considered for a VERY FUTURE child.
I love the name Claudia. An issue, however, is that sometimes I just cannot envision a child with this name! My first thought being: Claudia from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, the evil yet sorrowful vampire whom was eternally a child.
However, the name is absolutely stunning in my opinion. It's always a matter of myself; I just can't seem to envision it at times... yet it's so pretty. Perhaps if I can't use this for that possible future daughter, a cat? Tehe. (: What are your thoughts on Claudia?
Thank you!

I like the name itself, it is pretty, but the meaning "lame" bothers me. Usually I can get over the general meaning of names, and just go by associations that I have with the name instead. But in this case, it makes the name taboo for me.
Same thing with Cecilia / Cecily.

I think it's beautiful and regal. I would definately consider using it.

I love Claudia too, and the vampire child doesn't bother me at all - in fact, it only added to its charm. Cláudia (cloud-ia) was very popular here some years ago, though. Lots of women in their 20's-30's have this beautiful name.
I think Claudia's workable.
I don't think I've ever met a Claudia, but my first exposure to it was Claudia Kishi of The Baby-Sitters Club. I know it's silly, but Claudia was just a fun character.
I just went onto Facebook and did a search of the name Claudia. I feel like that can humanize a name, especially when you see people with whom you share a mutual friend (and for me, there are a lot of Claudias who know people I know!).

I Love the name Claudia and Claudia is one of my favorites from the Vampire chronicles! Its so unusual and classic. The lame meaning is a bit odd but wouldn't make me like it any less.
Yes, I find it strong and elegant too. The meaning does put me off a bit; but it doesn't really bother me, considering there qre quite a few people in the world whom probabyl don't know the meaning. I find it a sort of 'lonely' name as well.
As for the Vampire Chronicles connection, I don't mind it whatsoever. (: It would be lovely for a little girl... or a cat! Haha. Anyways, it's all about Twilight now days anyhow. -rolls eyes- No offense to anyone, though. I personalyl love Claudia from the Vampie Chronicles; but she irritates me sometimes, tehe.

I love Claudia. I think it's a beautiful name with a strong sound.
One of my all-time favorite combos is Claudia Martine.
My strongest association with it is of the actress Claudia Black. (That's definitely a positive association for me, being both a Farscape and Stargate SG-1 fan.)
I used to read The Baby-sitter Club books, so I also associate the name with an artistic/artsy girl.

I love Claudia; it's one of my favorite names. I think it's beautiful and strong, a perfect combination for a little girl OR a woman. It demands your attention, and isn't prissy and soft, like a lot of female names that are currently popular. I give it a 10.
adore
I also find this name a stunner. I really dislike the meaning, and perhaps foolishly that might influence whether or not I would use it on my own child, but I would find it so posh if I met a baby, puppy or cat named Claudia! It is such a beautiful, graceful name. It has a touch of melancholy about it that I really really enjoy. I seem to like "lonesome" names like that. Claudia, Lydia, Hugo, Ezra... that kinda stuff.

I think it's a beautiful name. I wouldn't worry about the association with the Vampire Chronicles. I don't know many people who have read them besides myself. So I don't think a lot of people will make that connection.
I love the name. All the Claudias I have ever known have also been beautiful and artistic.
I babysat a 3-year-old Claudia once. Before I met her, it was hard to imagine the name on a child for me too. I love the name, though - and I'd love to see it on more little girls! :)
I think it has a pretty sound to it. It is a bit dated and mostly makes me picture frumpy ladies, though. But I still think it's very elegant.
I know a Claudia, she's about 10 years old, and it suits her well, so i can definitely picture it on a child.
I think it's a pretty name, very charming and old school.

It's a great name. I wouldn't say the Anne Rice character is *that* well known, and anyway it's common enough to have other possible associations. People fixate too much on all these popular cultural references.
Claudia is really lovely - a romantic and beautiful name. The "lame" meaning makes me rather reluctant to use it, however.
For obvious reasons it does make a good name for a feline lady!
