It's a name I'd consider. I like it for its medieval feel.
I quite like it, but don't think it works on a non-Hispanic baby. I prefer Jolan anyway.
I used to hate Yolanda. It sounded clunky and the "yo" part sounded like someone was calling out to get my attention.
But then I came acrosee the French version, Yolande. Suddenly, it sounded elegant and sophisticated. I still don't like Yolanda, but my aversion is less.
My favorite of all has got to be Iolanthe ("ee-o-LAN-thee" or "yo-LAWN-thee"). I'm a sucker for feminine "i" names.
