Does anyone know how to pronounce this name?
DH and I love the name Kjerstin, but we aren't 100% sure how to pronounce it. I've heard that the letters "kj" make the "sh" sound in Nordic languages, so would it be SHEER-stin? KEER-stin? If anyone has ANY idea, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd pronounce it Kirsten. I've never seen it with a j before. Honestly I don't like it. It just looks like it randomly fell there. Like a one of these things just doesn't belong game.
I pronounce Kjersin (and Kerstin) with two sh-sounds. SHESH-tin.
I have a friend named Kerstin (I live in Sweden) and I had a couple of teachers named that too. Never seen Kjerstin though.
I prn Kerstin like KER-stin but with a soft K, so it's actually more like "Cher-stinn" or "Chair-stinn".
I would probably prn Kjerstin the same.

KYEER-stin. Said fast it sounds like KEER-stin.
I'd say KYER-stin, wherein "kyer" rhymes with "air." I know the j in many Scandinavian/Germanic languages is pronounced like the English y, which is why I'd say it that way. I've met a Dutch girl named Majken, pronounced "my-ken," and Freja is pronounced the same as Freya.
I know someone named Kjrsten and it's the same as Kyrsten... so I'd assume that Kjerstin is the same (KEER-stin)
I don't know anything about Nordic languages, so don't take my word for it.. but I always thought the "J" usually makes a /y/ sound.. so my guess would be "Kyeer' sten."
I did know a guy from Norway named Jens who pronounced his name like "Yents."
But maybe the "kj" combination is different.
