I like Liza and don't think it'd dated at all. I only like it as a nickname for Elizabeth, though. I would never use it on its own.

I don't pronounce it like Lisa. Lisa has a long E sound and a soft S. Liza has a long I sound and then a Z.

I've never known anyone named Liza. I knew a Lisa who was really an Elizabeth, but no Elizabeths who went by Liza.

I definitely prefer Liza over Lisa. I think that Elizabeth is a great name, but too long to use on a regular basis, and Liza makes a good nickname, so I can't say that I prefer one over the other.
