Re: Victoria- nickname Tori?

Victoria has an elegant, sophisticated, very classy connotation. I think of the queen, or a woman who fits the description of the connotation.
Tori, on the other hand, is very cute and very spunky. I think of a tomboyish, assertive, smart and fun girl.
I can't say I find one preferable to the other, as I just think of Tori as being a nickname for Victoria. I don't like Tori on its own, I think it should always be a nickname for Victoria.
Victoria gets a lot of love on this board, I've noticed, while Tori gets very little. Many are the comments along the lines of, "I love Victoria, but I just can't stand any of its nicknames, like Vicky or Tori."
I don't understand this, as I find Tori adorable.
My daughter is named Victoria with the nickname Torrie, by the way. (We spell it that way.) And my daughter is an assertive, smart, and fun young woman, so that her nickname fits her and she loves it. But she also loves having a sophisticated, elegant, classy full name.
