Mara and Dulce
I've been thinking about these two names.Mara means 'bitter' and Dulce means 'sweet.' Would Mara Dulce or Dulce Mara be an interesting combo, or for sisters in a story?(I'm not expecting or anything, I'm just wondering if it's interesting.)

They're nice names. But I'm not sure they flow well as a combo. They'd be kinda cool for sisters, though.

It's funny, but I have always preffered the name Mara. I think it would be an interresting name for a story sibset, especially if the traits were reversed. (eg. If Mara were really sweet and nice and Dulce were bitter and twisted):0)

Google lists quite a few people called Dulcemara and Dulce Mara, mostly in Brazil and Mexico. Dulce is dul-seh in Portuguese. I like it, and English Dulcie too.

I think it would be interesting in a story. In real life, I don't care for Dulce but Mara is pretty. :)

I think that Dulce Maria is a common combination in Spanish. Maria means sea of bitterness. I can see it as a combo.

How are you pronouncing Dulce? I love Dulcie ("DUL-see"), as a nn for Dulcinea. It's so cute and I love the meaning. But I'm not sure how Dulce is supposed to be said. "DOOL-say," "DOOL-thay," "DUL-see" or another way?As for siblings, I give the thumbs up for Mara and Dulce. I love both names. Mara is gorgeous and I've already stated how I feel about Dulce / Dulcie. Subtle themes like the one you propose are great. What's not to love?
