It makes me think 'Alba gu brath' which is Scots Gaelic for Scotland forever. So I'm a fan when it's taken to mean Scotland, as well as the probably more popular meaning given on this site. I think it's lovely as a middle name but I've met a girl whose first name was Alba and it's kind of put me off it as a first name.

Reminds me of Jessica Alba but the name, itself, is okay. Nothing I'd ever use but I could appreciate it on someone else.

I used to like it because of "House of Spirits" by Isabel Allende, but now it only makes me think of Jessica Alba so I wouldn't use it.

It always reminds me of Jessica Alba too, and now also the little girl in "The Time Traveler's Wife". I'm not a fan.

Gorgeous. Alba's stock must be on the rise. I'm seeing it more and more on these boards. I hope that reflects what's going on in the real world of baby-naming. I'd love to meet a little Alba or Rosalba on day.The male form, Alban, is very distinguished.

It's nice, but I wouldn't use, it's a bit too "frilly".
