I like it a lot. Rachel was quite popular here in the 70s and 80s, so I know lots of Rachels - but it's also in my family in the 1800s. So I'd say it was classic enough not to sound dated. Rachel Miriam is the combo I like best.

I'm not a fan of the name. The majority of the one's I know are not the nicest nor friendliest people, to say the least. To me, it seems dated but not as much as some other names.

Out of your combos, my favorite is Mila Rachel.

I love the name Rachel, mainly because of good associations with it. It is the name of one of my best friends. It is quite popular where I live but not overly so. I don't think it is too dated either.
Rachel Miriam, Rachel Tabitha and Hannah Rachel are all lovely

I love Rachel. I also like Rachael. Even though it has the '80's feel to it, I still think that it is usable.

I adore it, especially Rachel Susannah.

-It's pretty and sweet, but somehow sexy at the same time. I loved growing up with this name, and I love it now.

Do you think it's usable now that it's slowly leaving the top 100 or does the fact that it's losing popularity make it even more dated?
-It was always usable, even when it was in the top 100. I only knew two other Rachels in my graduating class of 450, so I don't think popularity is as big a problem as people seem to think it is. I don't think it's dated; I group it with names like Sarah and Hannah. It's more timeless.

Is it common where you live?
-Not too common. As I said, I knew a couple of other girls with the name growing up, and every great once in a while I'll meet another adult named Rachel, but I've yet to meet an army of them.

I myself never put Rachel and Hannah in the same category, since I like Rachel and hate Hannah, but I can see why you would, since they are both old Biblical names.

I think that as it leaves the top 100 it will be dated, but still in a different category than names such as Heather are, because Rachel is classic while Heather isn't. The same way that Deborah is dated just as Linda is, but Deborah is still a classic, while Linda isn't.

I've never personally known a Rachel. I know OF a Rachel, but I've never met her. She's my first cousin once removed, the daughter of my first cousin.

Yeah it's rather common where I live. There's probably quite a few Conservative Jews here named Hannah Rachel so to me that's like naming your daughter Emma Grace around here. You actually probably better off with Emma Grace then Hannah Rachel here. Even so, Rachel is extremely common, it's not a name to give your daughter if you want her to be the only one in her class with that name if that's something that bothers you.

I love Rachael spelled only that way. I don't like Rachel spelled like that. Sort of how I love Rebekah but really don't like Rebecca. Out of your combos I like Rachel Miriam though would prefer as stated before Rachael Miriam.
